Asaduddin Owaisi Makes It Political AGAIN, Questions 'Bharat Ratna' to Lal Krishna Advani

New Delhi: Hours after BJP veteran and key figure in Ram Janmabhoomi Movement Lal Krishna vani was conferred with ‘Bharat Ratna’, All India Majlis-e-Ittehul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asuddin Owaisi on Saturday hit out at government's move, with a satirical post on social media platform ‘X’, attacking vani. “Well deserved Bharat Ratna for LK vani… graves of Indians who lost ir lives in violence are nothing but stepping stones”, Owaisi wrote on ‘X’.

Owaisi's criticism comes just hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that BJP stalwart vani will be conferred Bharat Ratna, country's highest civilian award.

Noteworthily, deeply emotive issue of Ram Mandir establishment in Ayodhya was thrust into popular consciousness by vani through his 'Ram Rath Yatra' in 1990. It was, in fact, under vani's leership that BJP h decided to lend its whole-hearted support to Ram Janmabhoomi movement by opting a resolution in its Palampur convention in 1989 – in support of building temple – at birthplace of Lord Ram.

Bharat Ratna for 96-year-old leer comes nine years after honour was bestowed on former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
