'No need to discuss CAA, NPR in Assembly, CM has issued clarification': Ashok Chavan
Congress leader Ashok Chavan said that there is no need to discuss the CAA and NPR in the Maharashtra Assembly, Chief Minister can make the decision himself

Senior Congress leer Ashok Chavan said that re is need to discuss Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Population Register (NPR) in Maharashtra Assembly.
Chavan told media that as CAA and NPR are Central laws, it need t be discussed in state Assembly. He said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray would make best decision on matter.

Furr speaking about rift within Maha Vikas Aghi government over differing stand of party alliances on CAA and NPR, Ashok Chavan said that Shiv Sena, Congress, and NCP are against implementation of law.
"All three parties are of same view that law, which is t in interest of nation and state, won't be implemented. Chief Minister has also cleared his stand alrey," Ashok said.

Earlier, Congress h demanded that re should be a resolution passed in Maharashtra Assembly against CAA and NPR.

BJP moves CAA discussion in State Assembly
In yet ar tactic to corner its former ally - Shiv Sena, BJP on Thursday has moved for a discussion on CAA in Maharashtra Assembly. Leer of Opposition Devendra Fnavis has moved Assembly for a discussion on Act seeking government clear stance on issue as CM Uddhav Thackeray & Deputy CM Ajit Pawar have opposed Congress-NCP's stance on issue.

While Congress-NCP has maintained that law is 'unconstitutional and targets mirities', both CM and his deputy have said 'CAA affects one'.

"We have presented a discussion on CAA, as several ministers have stated that y will t allow implementation of law. government must clarify its stance as CM Uddhav Thackeray has clarified his stance on issue. We feel as ruling government is split on issue, y are scared," said Fnavis to reporters outside Vidhan Sabha.
Slamming BJP, State Mirity Affairs Minister Nawab Malik said, " BJP is misusing Vidhan Sabha by raising matters of CAA. y should t do this".
