Bhiwani landslide: Congress claims influential people linked to tragedy; seeks fair probe

Claiming a conspiracy behind the Bhiwani landslide tragedy in which four mineworkers were killed, Congress MP Deepender Hooda has demanded a fair investigation.

Claiming a conspiracy behind  Bhiwani landslide trdy in which four mineworkers were crushed to death on New Year's Day, Congress MP Deepender Hooda has demanded a judicial investigation into "heartwrenching" incident.

"I demand an investigation, t under state, but monitored by Supreme Court or High Court judge", said Congress leader. He claimed that safety standards were t followed at mining site which led to deadly accident.

"We have come to kw of people who are involved with trdy. se people are linked to influential people", alleged Hooda. "Ten to 20 people are still trapped in mines", he added.

Earlier, former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda held ML Khattar-led government responsible for trdy and demanded a court-monitored probe into 'mining scam' that allegedly caused landslide. former CM questioned how mining activities were being undertaken at site despite Supreme Court’s direction to ‘t destroy’ Aravalli Hills.

"Today, news of death of many labourers, many trapped and injured in accident in Dadam-Bhiwani area is sad. I pay tribute to dead and wish injured a speedy recovery. How was mining going on despite Supreme Court`s direction t to destroy Aravalli hills?," said Hooda in a tweet.

“ present Haryana government is fully responsible for this accident. A judicial inquiry should be conducted into mining scam worth thousands of crores. Also, government should give adequate compensation to families of those who lost ir lives in this accident. government should ensure rescue operations and aid to victims on a war footing,” he added. 

Four killed in Bhiwani landslide, several feared trapped

Four people died in  landslide that took place in Bhiwani district at a mining site, said Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij. workers were reportedly travelling to ar site when landslide took place and y got trapped in ir vehicles. district administration launched a rescue operation at Dadam mining zone in Tosham block. Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed grief over incident and also spoke to Haryana Chief Minister Mahar Lal Khattar.

Taking to Twitter, Home Minister also wished speedy recovery to those injured and informed that local administration is engd in rescue operation.
