BIG: Centre reconstitutes NITI Aayog post swearing-in of new cabinet. Here's the list of Committee members
In a major administrative shuffle, reports have emerged that the NITI Aayog has been reconstituted, on Thursday after the new cabinet has been sworn-in, according to sources. As declared in the official website of NITI Aayog, the chairperson will still remain to be PM Narendra Modi

In a major administrative shuffle, reports have emerged that the NITI Aayog has been reconstituted, on Thursday after the new cabinet has been sworn-in, according to sources. As declared in the official website of NITI Aayog, the chairperson will still remain to be PM Narendra Modi and Vice-chairperson will also remain unchanged as Dr.Rajiv Kumar.

The main change is the list of ex-Offcio members where Home Minister Amit Shah has been inducted into the list while Defence minister Rajnath Singh who was previously a part of the committee has been dropped.

Here is the full list of Ex-Officio members:

- Amit Shah (Minister of Home Affairs)
- Nirmala Sitharaman (Minister of Finance; and Minister of Corporate Affairs)
- Piyush Goyal (Minister of Railways; and Minister of Commerce and Industry)
- Narendra Singh Tomar (Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare; Minister of Rural Development; and Minister of Panchayati Raj)
The new special invitee in the committee is Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani while Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar, who was previously a part of the committee has been dropped.

In addition, the Chief Executive Officer will remain as Amitabh Kant and the full-time members will remain as:

NITI Aayog Committee (2015)
In the previous NITI Aayog, former Home Minister Rajnath Singh, former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Union minister Piyush Goyal and former Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh were the ex-officio members. While the special invitees to the committee were Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Prakash Javadekar and Thawar Chand Gehlot.
What is NITI Aayog?
The National Institution for Transforming India, also called NITI Aayog is the premier policy ‘Think Tank’ of the Government of India, providing both directional and policy inputs. This body was a replacement for the Planning Commission instituted in 1950. According to its official website, NITI Aayog acts as the quintessential platform of the Government of India to bring States to act together in national interest, and thereby fosters Cooperative Federalism.
