BJP bags 15 out of 26 seats in LAHDC polls, first big win since Ladakh's UT status
Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal took to Twitter expressing his gratitude towards the citizens of Ladakh for expressing their faith in the BJP.

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday secured its first major victory in Union Territory (UT) of Lakh after it swept Lakh Automous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) polls in Leh bagging a whopping 15 out of 26 seats. BJP's Ram Mhav took to Twitter to anunce development.
Lakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal also took to Twitter expressing his gratitude towards citizens of Lakh for showcasing faith in BJP, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nda and or senior leers of party. "We are indebted to you for your utmost trust and confidence in us. We shall strive towards fulfilling aspirations of people of Lakh," re Lakh MP's post.

LAHDC-Leh Polls
LAHDC, Leh elections that took place on October 22 and recorded a 65.07 per cent turut. An electorate of 89,776, including 45,025 women from region voted in 294 polling stations that were set up across 26 constituencies of Leh district. Around 94 candidates including 26 each of BJP and Congress ran for LAHDC, Leh elections. This year, Aam mi Party (AAP) tried its luck for first time fielding 19 candidates. remaining 23 contestants were independents.
This is second consecutive win for saffron party which h won LAHDC-Leh last elections, wrestling long-standing victors Lakh Union Territorial Front and Congress out of power. However, this is first time that saffron party has secured a massive victory in newly established UT of Lakh, post abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir. Since formation of hill council in 1995, Congress h swept poll thrice while Lakh Union Territorial Front h won elections in 2005.
