New Delhi: Launching a pincer attack on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and his bror-in-law and businessman Robert Vra, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia, on Friday, equated Vra with iconic character of movie Andaz Apna Apna's 'Crime Master Gogo' essayed by actor Shakti Kapoor.

Stepping up attack furr, Bhatia against backdrop of upcoming Haryana polls, said Congress was hellbent on making Vra, husband of General Secretary of Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vra, ‘jijaji of nation.’ 

Dredging up alleged corruption involving Vra when Congress was in power in Haryana , Bhatia claimed election in state is a fight between " Haryana ka laal" (son of Haryana) and 'dalaal' (fixer) of Gandhi family, as it questioned Congress leership's silence on corruption charges against Vra and party's n government heed by Bhupinder Singh Hooda. 

He said people of state have me up ir minds to elect BJP to power for a third straight term, asserting that central government heed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and state government heed by Nayab Singh Saini have worked for farmers' welfare. 

While Gandhi has been speaking about farmers' issues, he has not said a word about his "land-grabbing" bror-in-law, Bhatia told a press conference. 

Hooda is just a mask and real face of corruption is Gandhi family, he alleged, citing questionable land deals involving Vra. 

In one case, he noted, Vra's company allegedly acquired 3.5 acres of land from farmers and n Hooda government changed land use, allowing him to pocket a huge profit by selling parcel at four times purchase price. 

In anor case, farmers resorted to distress selling off ir land after Congress government in state issued a notification to acquire ir land and n denotified after a builder linked to Vra bought ir land, he alleged. 

Vra has constantly denied allegations of any wrongdoing and accused BJP of targeting him due to political vendetta. 

Modi during his campaign in Haryana recently h also revived corruption charges involving him to slam Congress and its leership. 

With Congress seen to be putting up a strong challenge after registering an impressive performance in Lok Sabha polls, Bhatia asked who would stop Vra if party came to power again. 

Haryana h become a hotbed of corruption when it was in power between 2004 and 2014, he said. 

BJP spokesperson exuded confidence that his party will retain power. 

Gandhi should respond to charges against his bror-in-law, he said. 

Bhatia claimed Congress in Haryana is marred by infighting, ding that Kumar Selja, who comes from a Dalit community, h been treated shabbily by Hooda and party general secretary Randeep Surjewala. (with PTI inputs)
