BJP has put Congress on defensive over Gupkar; forces it to toe line: Mehbooba's big claim

After Union Home Minister Amit Shah's attack on Congress over its stance on People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration and latter's clarification on it, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday stated that BJP has put Congress "on defensive" about its participation in PAGD through "false propaganda." former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti, also said that abrogation of Article 370 was illegal yet national party including Congress will mit it publicly due to lies spre by BJP.
Her remarks came after Congress on Tuesday said it is t a part of PAGD, an alliance of several parties in Jammu and Kashmir that is seeking restoration of erstwhile state's special status, which was revoked by Centre in August last year. In a statement, Congress's chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said party is t a part of PAGD and will contest upcoming maiden District Development Council (DDC) polls in Jammu and Kashmir to "expose" BJP through democratic means.

'BJP has put Congress on defensive'
"Today yet again through false propaganda, BJP has put Congress on defensive about its participation in PAGD. pattern where BJP propagates falsehoods & sets nda reby forcing Congress to toe same line is why this country lacks a robust opposition," she wrote on Twitter. DDC polls will be conducted in Jammu and Kashmir in eight phases between vember 28 and December 19, and counting of votes will take place on December 22.
' Gupkar Gang is going global'
Taking to Twitter, Amit Shah h on Tuesday asked Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi and party leer Rahul Gandhi if y support People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration which, he said, insults India's tricolour. " Gupkar Gang is going global! y want foreign forces to intervene in Jammu and Kashmir. Gupkar Gang also insults India's Tricolour. Do Sonia Ji and Rahul Ji support such moves of Gupkar Gang? y should make ir stand crystal clear to people of India," Shah tweeted.
