BJP issues 3-line whip to Lok Sabha MPs, asks to be positively present
Important Legislative business will be taken up for discussion and passing in the Lok Sabha, said the three-line whip issued by the BJP.

Just a day after listing out the agenda for the special session of the Parliament to be held from September 18 to September 22, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a whip to all the Lok Sabha members asking them to be present on all days of the session. The three-line whip issued by the BJP has intimidated the members of the House that important legislative business will be taking place in the session and has asked them to be positively present.
“All BJP members in Lok Sabha are hereby informed that some very important legislative business will be taken up for discussion and passing in the Lok Sabha from Monday, September 18 to Friday, September 22, 2023,” said the whip.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi had announced a special session of the Parliament for five days from September 18 to September 22 saying that amid 'Amrit Kaal', the Government is looking forward to fruitful discussions and debate in the Parliament. On September 13, the Centre released the ‘tentative’ agenda for the session which included two bills to be taken up in the Lok Sabha and two Bills which would be discussed in the Rajya Sabha.
As per the tentative agenda, The Advocates (Amendment) Bill, 2023 and the Press and Registration of Periodicals Bill, 2023 - are to be taken up in the Lok Sabha as they were passed in the Rajya Sabha on August 3, during the monsoon session of the Parliament. The Rajya Sabha will take up two Bills which were introduced in the Upper House on August 10, which are The Post Office Bill 2023 and the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Bill, 2023.
