After the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP) alliance in Madhya Pradesh failed to take shape ahead of the state assembly polls, both the parties are appearing to have come face to face against each other. Miffed with the denial of an alliance in MP, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav is taking aim at the Congress for the past couple of days. On Saturday too, the SP supremo went on to take a potshot at the Congress over the latter's demand for a nationwide caste-based census with the central government.

Amid the ongoing tussle between two parties of the same alliance, the BJP has termed them the opportunist alliance. Former Union Minister and BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said that it was speculated that conflict for self-interest will happen, and it happened. He even questioned the opposition leaders, whether they were talking about giving this option to the people of this country.

Akhilesh Yadav targeted Congress over caste census politics, calls it miracle

BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, while talking to news agency ANI said, “See the rift between these people and what kind of language is being used by them. These people are out to defeat BJP and have no sense of civility among themselves. This is the kind of ‘Vikalp (option)’ these people were talking about? Opportunist alliance, where selfishness prevails, conflict for self-interest was to happen and it happened."

Referring to the objectionable words used by Congress leader Kamal Nath against Akhilesh Yadav, Prasad said, “Now, Akhilesh ji is saying that the alliance will be only in the Lok Sabha and not in the Legislative Assembly. We will also see this as well. Kamal Nath ji is using such harsh words about him from here, he should leave then.”

“This country has to see this, the people of the country will have to decide, that one one side under the leadership of PM Modi, India is on the way to become the top economy of the world, which is also being said by the World Bank and IMF (International Monetary Fund), and on the other side, the people are raising eyebrows at each other and using filthy language for each other,” the former-Union minister hailed PM Modi for the development of the nation.

He further added, “The public of this nation knows everything. Today, I pray to ‘Maa Durga’ that there should be peace in India, there should be righteousness, and the country continues to march on the path of progress.”

Meanwhile, talking exclusively to Republic TV, BJP spokesperson Tom Vadakkan said, “When there is no ideological roadmap, this is what happens. The opportunistic group has come together, and this sort of pitfall will be witnessed. Why are they humiliating each other in public?”

After the Congress appeared to be refusing any alliance in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections with the Samajwadi Party (SP), a war seems to have broken out in the Opposition’s I.N.D.I Alliance. Miffed with the Congress’ decision, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday lambasted Congress for the third consecutive day. He even reportedly said that the SP will do to the Congress in Uttar Pradesh what the Congress has done to them in Madhya Pradesh.

The SP chief invoked the caste census issue to attack the Grand Old Party saying, “It is the same Congress party that didn’t give the exact numbers of the caste census. It is a miracle because everyone knows that until and unless you don’t have the support of the backward caste, you won’t succeed.”

On the other hand, Congress leader Kamal Nath and Deputy CM of Chhattisgarh TS Singh Deo's remarks made against Akhilesh Yadav appears to have exploded the I.N.D.I Alliance war.

Responding to the ongoing rift between the Congress and the SP, D Raja, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), while talking exclusively to Republic said, “There should be mutual trust, mutual respect and mutual accommodation among the allies of the alliance. What is happening between Kamal Nath and Akhilesh Yadav shouldn’t happen. Both are former chief ministers, so the words which are being used should be dignified and decent. There is a way to explain and argue and one should not use words which can hurt, and which can lead to speculations that there is nothing good in the alliance.”
