Two days after Republic TV got a political scoop on Jammu-Kashmir indicating a rebellion within the PDP which may be headed towards a split, a letter written by a top BJP leader from Kashmir to Governor NN Vohra has now been accessed levelling serious corruption allegations against a top Mehbooba Mufti aide. The letter has been written by Khalid Jehangir, who has resigned from the Jammu-Kashmir Project Construction Corporation after writing the letter. Jehangir was the Vice Chairman of J&K Project Construction Corporation and wrote the letter before submitting his resignation to the Governor.

In the letter, Jehangir has claimed that Naeem Akhtar, who was the minister for Public Works in the Mehbooba Mufti government and was a trusted aide of her, passed verbal for prestigious construction projects to his blue eyed persons. In the letter, Jehangir has demanded a fact finding committee to probe the corruption in construction of various important projects including flyovers and hospitals.

He has also alleged that masses are being fooled by violation of rules and regulations, and while small projects go through e-tendering process, no such policy is implemented for the big projects.

Sources have now told Republic TV that the Governor has taken note of the particular letter and has asked the Chief secretary to probe the letter.

Meanwhile, Rajnath Singh has met with Governor NN Vohra. This is Home Minister's first visit to Jammu-Kashmir after the PDP-BJP split.

Earlier on July 3, Republic TV had learnt that former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has been facing a potential split within the ranks of the PDP as twelve of the 28 PDP MLAs are ready to defect.

However, after the reports surfaced the Congress made it clear that it is not looking to form a government in the state for 'just a few months' and wants early elections to be held instead.

The Mehbooba Mufti-led government collapsed on June 19 as the BJP withdrew its support. Governor's rule has since been imposed in the state.
