BJP's switches Delhi unit General Secretary Siddharthan with his Himachal counterpart Pawan Rana
BJP's Pawan Rana will now hold the post of party's Delhi general secretary (organisation) while Siddharthan will replace him in Himachal Pradesh.

In run-up to 2024 Lok Sabha polls, BJP president J P Nda on Sunday replaced party's Delhi unit general secretary (organisation) Siddharthan, who held post for nearly eight years, with his Himachal Presh counterpart, Pawan Rana.
Orders issued by Nda swapped posts of Rana, Himachal Presh BJP general secretary (organisation), and Siddharthan in a shake-up.

Rana will now hold post of Delhi BJP general secretary (organisation) while Siddharthan will replace him in Himachal Presh.
Under Siddharthan, who took charge as Delhi BJP general secretary (organisation) in 2015, party suffered back-to-back reverses at hands of its main rival AAP in 2020 Assembly polls and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections held in December 2022.

Rana, who will now supervise party's organisational matters in Delhi, was appointed at helm of its Himachal Presh unit last year, after BJP suffered a defeat in Assembly polls in hill state at hands of Congress.
Delhi BJP leers hoped that under Rana, party will be able to improve its performance in national capital.

" real test of Rana will be in 2025, when Assembly polls are due. We just hope he will work in tandem with state leership and avoid imposing himself on it," said a top functionary of Delhi BJP on condition of anonymity.
Delhi unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is currently led by Virendra Sachdeva, a Punjabi born and brought up in city, following party's experiment to revive its fortunes pitted against AAP by first appointing a Purvanchali and n a trer community leer as its state presidents.

Under two previous presidents of its Delhi unit, Manoj Tiwari and esh Gupta from Purvanchali and Baniya community respectively, BJP h come up with mixed results in elections.
BJP has been out of power in Delhi for three deces now. It suffered massive losses at hands of AAP in 2015 and 2020 Assembly polls in Delhi, although it swept Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and 2019, winning all seven parliamentary seats in national capital.
