'I Regret If...': Kangana Ranaut Withdraws Farm Laws Remarks After Backlash
After her remarks on the contentious farm laws, the BJP also distanced itself from her statement.

New Delhi: After facing massive backlash over her remarks calling for bringing back three farm laws that were repealed in 2021, Kangana Ranaut , BJP MP from Mandi, on Wednesday withdrew her remarks. In a video dress, she said she took her words back.
Expressing regret, Ranaut said she might have disappointed many with her statement on contentious laws and that now her opinion should reflect party's stand as "she is no more just an artist."

Taking to X, Mandi MP wrote on Wednesday, “I stand with my party regarding Farmers Law (sic)”. In video message she said, "When farmers' laws were proposed, several of us h supported m. But with great sensitivity and sympathy, our respected prime minister h withdrawn those laws." "I regret if I left anybody disappointed with my words and opinions. I take my words back," she said while concluding her video message.
actor-politician h triggered a row while speaking at an event in Mandi district on Tuesday when said three farm laws faced protests only in some states. "Farmers are a pillar of strength in India's progress. Only in some states, y h objected to farm laws. I appeal with folded hands that farm laws should be brought back in interest of farmers," she h said.

BJP Distances Itself from Ranaut's Remark
After her remarks on contentious farm laws, BJP also distanced itself from her statement. Reaction to Kangana's statement, BJP leer Gaurav Bhatia h clarified that it was her personal opinion and that she was "not authorised to make such a statement on behalf of BJP."
Bhatia said, "On social media platforms, BJP MP Kangana Ranaut 's statement on farm bills that was withdrawn by central govt, is going viral. I want to make it clear that this statement is a personal statement of her. Kangana Ranaut is not authorised to make such a statement on behalf of BJP and it doesn't depict BJP's view on farm bills. We disapprove of this statement."

She h claimed that country is on path of progress and restoring farm laws would ensure better financial stability and growth for farmers, ultimately benefiting agricultural sector.
Meanwhile, Congress alleged that Kangana's remarks werean indication that ruling party was making efforts to bring back three laws and said that Haryana would give a befitting reply to it.

Ranaut's remark came at a time when political parties are gearing up for Haryana assembly elections, slated on October 5. Notably, Haryana h seen major protest by farmers, especially at Delhi borders, demanding scrapping of three laws. massive protest eventually led PM Modi-led govt withdrawn farm laws in 2021.
