Mayawati at a press conference on her 64th birthday accused BJP and Congress of playing "dirty politics" and alleged that BJP-led central government follows pattern of previous Congress dispensation, which was punished for its wrongdoing. Terming both parties "two sides of same coin", Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief said Congress does t have moral right to criticise BJP.

"You (Mayawati) h extended support to Manmohan Singh government for 10 years. In state, you h taken support of Congress," BJP leer and Uttar Presh Minister Shrikant Sharma said. basic difference between BJP and Congress is that "our government bors about pro-poor welfare schemes reaching poor. government of which you h been a part...inste of reaching poor, reached homes of those in power, especially Congress, through back door", he said.

Mayawati told reporters that under current regime, poverty, unemployment, anarchy, violence and tension have exceeded that during tenure of Congress at Centre.
She also alleged that amendments to citizenship law were brought without taking ors into confidence. "Even today you are 'pichhlaggoo' (hangers-on) of Congress. Whenever opportunity comes behenji (as Mayawati is popularly kwn) you stand behind Congress," Sharma said.
