Centre convenes all-party meeting in Parliament with senior leaders in attendance ahead of first session of 17th Lok Sabha
A day before the first Parliament session of the 17th Lok Sabha is set to commence, an all-party meeting has begun at the Parliament on Sunday, as per sources. Sources further report that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Prahlad Joshi and leader of BJP in Rajya Sabha Thawar Chand Gehlot were the first to arrive at the meeting

A day before first Parliament session of 17th Lok Sabha is set to commence, an all-party meeting has begun at Parliament on Sunday, as per sources.
Sources furr report that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, SP leer Ram Gopal Yav, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Prahl Joshi and leer of BJP in Rajya Sabha Thawar Chand Gehlot were first to arrive at meeting which commenced on Sunday morning.

or leers who reportedly are in attendance at meeting were YSCRP leer V Vijayasai Reddy, TMC leer Derek O'Brien, NC Chief Farooq Abdullah, NCP leer Supriya Sule, Apna Dal (Sonelal) Chief Anupriya Patel, AAP leer Sanjay Singh, and TDP leer Jayev Galla.
After all-party meet, all NDA leers will reportedly meet in Parliament later in evening to discuss strategies for upcoming session. BJP parliamentary party executive committee meeting is reportedly scheduled to be held on Sunday evening.
Earlier on Wednesday, BJP has constituted its Parliamentary Party Executive Committee with PM Narendra Modi as leer of party, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as Deputy leer of party (Lok Sabha), Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot as leer of party (Rajya Sabha) and Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal as Deputy leer of party (Rajya Sabha). On Tuesday, BJP MP Dr.Virendra Kumar was anunced to be next Protem Speaker of newly elected 17th Lok Sabha.

On first two days of new Parliament session which will commence on Monday, new MPs will take oath while election for Speaker of 17th Lok Sabha is scheduled to be held on June 19. race for Speaker post is between senior BJP parliamentarians, including former Union ministers Maneka Gandhi, Rha Mohan Singh and Virender Kumar. Former Union ministers Jual Oram and S S Ahluwalia were also among possible candidates.
first session of 17th Lok Sabha will be convened from June 17 to July 26 during which Union Budget will be presented by new government on July 5.
