CM Gehlot insists Governor convene assembly session on July 27; Guv seeking legal opinion
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has insisted Governor Kalraj Mishra to convene the assembly session on July 27, according to sources at Governor's office.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has insisted Goverr Kalraj Mishra to convene assembly session on July 27, according to sources at Rajasthan Goverr's office. This comes after chief minister alleged that goverr is purposely t allowing assembly session to prove majority and acting on instructions of Centre.
Sources stated that goverr, surprised by allegations, is seeking legal opinion on chief minister's demand for an assembly session after a conversation with CM over issue.

While making allegations, chief minister also issued a threat to goverr, saying that if goverr doesn't allow session, people of state might gherao Raj Bhavan and he would t take responsibility for any such incident.

Gehlot said, "We all are heing towards Raj Bhavan, we will make a request to Goverr. It is Goverr's constitutional position. Please listen to your conscience and n make a decision without any external pressure. If t, it is possible people of state will come out to gherao Raj Bhavan, n it is t our responsibility."

Responding to CM's comment of Raj Bhavan gherao, goverr opined that Gehlot being CM is responsible for law and order situation in state.
Earlier in day, Rajasthan High Court maintained status quo on disqualification tice, giving relief to former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and 18 or MLAs. This means action will be taken against MLAs till SC hearing is completed. Moreover, it has me Centre a party to proceedings. Ministry of Law and Justice has been impleed in case and ditional Solicitor General (ASG) will represent Centre in court.

On Tuesday, a two-judge bench of Rajasthan HC comprising Chief Justice Indrajit Mahanty and Justice Prakash Gupta reserved order on plea filed by Pilot and his supporting Congress MLAs challenging disqualification tice issued to m by Assembly Speaker. disqualification tice was challenged on grounds that Assembly is t in session and that MLAs h t indulged in anti-party activities. While petitioners were represented by senior vocates Harish Salve and Mukul Rohatgi, Congress RS MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi appeared for Speaker.
