After highlighting how Hotel Arpit Palace - which caught fire resulting in death of 17 people - flouted a number of rules, Gautam Gambhir has slammed Arvind Kejriwal and his government, saying the compensation which they have provided means nothing for the families of the deceased.
Taking to Twitter, the former Indian cricketer stated that the money that the government will provide as compensation is not the solution, and instead, it is about making the system strong.

"Surely a human life is worth much more than INR 5 lakh @ArvindKejriwal. It underlines what our machinery thinks about us, d common man. Compensation is merely a bandaid on an oozing wound whereas Delhi needs surgeries and it should begin with a systemic overhaul @AamAadmiParty," he wrote on social media.
Prior to that, the recently retired cricketing superstar had exposed the malpractices of the Hotel, which was situation right next to the Gautam Gambhir Foundation in Karol Bagh.

"It’s so sad to see the callousness of regulators with regards to building laws being traded with loss of human lives. This hotel is right next to the GGF office and I know first hand how parking rules, building laws are conveniently flouted for commercial interests. Disgusting," his Twitter post read.
