In a significant development, Congress on Wednesday urged government of India to take nation into confidence to dress concerns of people after Chinese military helicopters were spotted close to border between India and China in eastern Lakh after a clash between soldiers from both sides took place on two occasions.
Amid escalating tension at Line of Actual Control (LAC), Chinese troops reportedly behaved like an “unprofessional army” during stand-off in Pangong Tso lake area in Eastern Lakh sector.

Taking to Twitter, Congress released statement and mentioned that standoff between armies of India and China is a matter of serious national concern.

On Tuesday, Lakh Lieutenant Goverr RK Mathur met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As per sources, evolving security situation was discussed. This development comes after a series of meetings were held in day amid standoff with China along LAC and Lakh sector. First, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a meeting in which Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, three Service chiefs and senior officials of Ministry of Defence participated. As per sources, Singh was briefed about India's response to Chinese escalation along LAC and Lakh sector. This was followed by PM meeting National Security visor Ajit Doval, CDS and three Service chiefs.

Chinese military helicopters were spotted close to border between India and China in eastern Lakh after a clash between soldiers from both sides took place on two occasions. reafter, a fleet of Su-30 fighters of Indian Air Force carried out sorties in area. Speaking to media on May 14, Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane observed that such stand-offs occur because LAC is t well defined. He ded that re was thing new in face-offs that took place in Eastern Lakh and Sikkim. Army Chief asserted that India would deal with situation as per protocols and strategic guidelines. According to sources, he visited Lakh last week to take stock of operational situation.

Army Chief remarked, "As far as situation on rrn borders is concerned, as you are aware that LAC is t very defined, re are different perceptions on where LAC runs. Accordingly, both sides patrol up to ir accepted claim line and refore when patrols reach at same place at same time n such face-offs do occur."
