Slamming Centre's foreign policy, former Union Minister Manish Tewari, pointed out its failure after Nepal passed a constitutional amendment for a new map which included Indian territories. He said that India must kw it stands where when even Nepal has such audacity. Tewari has also questioned tactical failure of Centre in China's intrusion at LAC.

Terming newly passed Napalese constitutional amendment as 'violative', Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said that India has ted new development. Reaffirming India's stance, he said that 'artificial enlargement of claims' was t fact-based or tenable. Nepal's Lower House passed a constitutional amendment to include Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiyhura in Nepal's official Map unanimously.

Nepal's Lower House passes map amendment

Earlier in day, Nepal's lower house passed constitutional amendment which was introduced on Tuesday, unanimously, as KP Sharma Oli-led government enjoyed support of main opposition party Nepali Congress and Janata Samajwi Party-Nepal in passing new map. Out of 275 MPs in Nepal, 258 were present and all voted Yes for Amendment. updated map will w be accommodated in national emblem, stated Nepal's Minister for Foreign Affairs Preep Gyawali.

After pass of bill in 275-member Lower House, map will be w introduced in National Assembly. NA will have to give lawmakers 72 hours to move amendments against bill’s provisions, if any. three territories claimed by Nepal are include Gunji, Kuti, and Nabi vills - which are a part of Uttarakhand.

Nepal incorporates Indian territories in new map

On May 18, Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli approved Nepal's new map featuring Indian territories of Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiyhura.  As per reports, Nepal's new map has been drawn on basis of Sugauli Treaty of 1816 signed between Nepal and n British Indian government and or relevant documents. In May 2020, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated an 80-km strategically crucial ro connecting Lipulekh pass with Dharchula in Uttarakhand as a link ro to Kailash Mansarovar - Nepal h raised serious objections to inauguration of this ro.
