Congress MLA caught on camera instigating students to beat up warden over stale food

In a shocker from Chitrurga, a Congress MLA, KC Veerendra was caught on camera instructing students of a law college to beat up hostel warden for supplying m with rotten and stale food. Congress MLA from Chitrurga KC Veerendra was heard saying in viral video, "If this happens again, lock up warden in room and beat him up if he feeds you rotten vegetables. Don't worry I'm re, this is too much. Take all worms from rotten vegetables and feed him same. n beat him up, all this will be rectified after that. This is not right."

Hostel students protest

hostel students comprising of law and B.Ed. students at SC/ST law hostel were protesting since August 1 demanding government's intervention in lack of facilities and rotten food allegedly provided at hostel.

A law student speaking to Republic, on condition of anonymity, said, " warden has me our lives difficult by imposing rules and curfew which cannot be followed because we are law students and sometime cases that we have taken up on a test basis will have follow-up at odd hours. Secondly food that is being supplied since last one year is of substandard quality. vegetables in sambar is rotten and we can see worms in m. This makes it impossible for us to eat it, despite several requests by us to warden he doesn't seem to listen to us. We thank MLA for intervening and he has promised that action will be taken against warden."

Demands me by hostel students

1) Provide good and quality food three times a day 

2) Procure fresh vegetables from market inste of buying it once in a week from regular vendor

3) Don't impose curfew hours for final year students as y have cases to follow-up

BJP defends students, slams Congress MLA for instigating m

saffron party has been quick to defend students and have said that it is responsibility of concerned ministration to see demands but also said that it was wrong on party of MLA to instigate m against warden. BJP MLC Tejasvini speaking to Republic said that "MLA is a responsible individual and we appreciate him for taking a stand but instigating students to lock up warden and beat him up, feed rotten food is not acceptable. He should exercise caution in what he speaks."
