Rebel Congress leader Adii Singh slammed party chief Sonia Gandhi for visiting the Raebareli constituency only twice after the previous elections in the state

Rebel Congress leer iti Singh slammed party chief Sonia Gandhi for visiting  Raebareli constituency only twice after previous elections and claimed that people who voted for her got nothing in return. Sonia Gandhi, who retained Rae Bareli seat in 2019 General elections, has visited constituency twice after retaining it in 2019, in June of that year and n in January 2020, and MLA iti Singh slammed her over this. rebel Congress leer hit out at her party chief claiming that people who voted her to power got nothing in return and were subjected to such treatment from Sonia Gandhi. 

"At least you should respect position you are in and enquire whereabouts of people who elected you to power. I respect all those leers, irrespective of ir party, those who dress grievances of public and attend to ir needs", MLA iti Singh said.

How Congress suffers from a leership crisis

Congress party has decided to conduct polls for its chief in May this year, as per sources, even as party faces a leership crisis that has only escalated since Rahul Gandhi resigned from post after party's 2019 general election drubbing. After recent Bihar debacle, senior leers like Kapil Sibal and P Chidambaram have come out in open and questioned leership. However, a group of Congress leers have once again pitched name of Rahul Gandhi for top post, with Delhi Congress even passing a resolution for same. Earlier, 23 top leers h written to interim chief Sonia Gandhi demanding robust changes in party. Though Sonia Gandhi managed to quell rebellion, voices against leership have risen due to poor performances in back to back elections.

It must be noted that dissenting voices h risen in Congress party a few months ago against backdrop of fight between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan as well. Senior Congress leers like Kapil Sibal and Ghulam Nabi Az h n spoken openly against Central leership of Gandhis. However, interim Congress chief Sonia Gandhi was able to quash rebellion and h assured party members of reviewing raised demands. Since n, however, Congress party also suffered an immeasurable blow on account of passing away of Ahmed Patel, a very close and influential aide of Sonia Gandhi.

Recently, her tenure was again extended. While some loyalists have time and again implored 50-year-old Rahul Gandhi to take back reins of party, this has also been met with significant opposition. Moreover, prominent Congress leers like Jyotiritya Scindia, Khushbu Sundar have quit party and joined BJP.
