Congress says Satya Pal Malik's 'meritorious' services not required
Congress Spokesperson Manish Tewari, on Saturday, has slammed the Guv. Satya Pal Malik's role in the bifurcation of the state into 2 Union Territories.

A day after former Jammu-Kashmir Goverr Satya Pal Malik h been transferred to Goa, Congress Spokesperson Manish Tewari, on Saturday has slammed goverr's role in bifurcation of state into 2 Union Territories. He mocked former J&K goverr saying that his 'meritorious' services were longer required. He ded that Malik has been sent on rest &recreation to goa.

Earlier on Thursday, mere days before official bifurcation of state of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories, namely Jammu-Kashmir and Lakh, J&K goverr Satya Pal Malik h been transferred to Goa. ditionally, Girish Chandra Murmu h been appointed as lieutenant goverr of Jammu Kashmir and Rha Krishna Mathur as lieutenant goverr of Lakh. Apart from se above-mentioned officers, P.S. Sreedharan Pillai h been appointed as Goverr of Mizoram.

Prep for Bifurcation day
Meanwhile, state is preparing for official day of bifurcation on October 31. J&K government has invited all ministrative secretaries to 'appointed day' while directing all secretaries to t move out of state during transit period October-vember 2019. Meanwhile, on October 17, Jammu-Kashmir ministration h abolished 36 member State Legislative Council. current composition of Legislative Council h 10 members from BJP, 8 from PDP, 3 from NC and 1 from Congress, whereas 14 seats were vacant.

Current situation of Kashmir
Meanwhile, Centre has stated that situation in Kashmir is slowly being restored back to rmalcy. Sources report that in Anantnag re has been almost 50% vehicular movement as per usual. Sources also report that 10-20% of shops in district have been opened. While traffic has been seen increasing in Valley, public transport is still t functional, as informed by authorities. While landline connections have been restored completely, internet and cell connections too have been restored to most parts of Valley, according to Kashmir ministration. Postpaid connections too have been restored in Valley. Schools have also opened in Valley and attendance has been grually rising. state ministration has been giving regular reports about medical facilities functional in Valley.

Parliament revoked Article 370 and 35 A
government h revoked Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and proposed that state be bifurcated into two Union Territories, Jammu and Kashmir, and Lakh. Jammu & Kashmir (Reorganisation) Bill, 2019, which strips Jammu and Kashmir's status of a state and converts it into a Union Territory with legislature and carving out Lakh region as a UT without legislature. It was passed in a division pressed by opposition with 125 votes in favor and 61 against, and an NCP member abstained in Rajya Sabha. It was n passed by a two-thirds majority in Lok Sabha on next day, making it law.
