A meeting of Congress Special Committee to assist interim president Sonia Gandhi will be held on Tuesday amid ongoing debate among party leers over its poor performance in Bihar assembly election and or state by-polls. meeting of senior members is set to take place at 5 pm through video conferencing but its nda is t clear.
This meeting has been called at a time when many voices within party have sought to review Congress leership after defeat in elections. Kapil Sibal, one of 23 Congress leers who h earlier written a letter to Sonia Gandhi demanding reforms in party, has sought a fresh introspection after its defeat in Bihar. However, he came under fire from fellow Congress leers for discussing party’s 'internal matters' in public.

From Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to Delhi Congress president Anil Chaudhary, Congress leers have targeted Sibal for seeking introspection in party after its defeat.

At this point, meeting of Sonia Gandhi's visory committee raises a lot of speculation. In August, Congress formed a Special Committee to assist interim president on organisational and operational matters. Its members include senior leers Ahmed Patel, KC Venugopal, AK Antony, Ambika Soni, Mukul Wasnik, Randeep Surjewala, among ors. tably, Ahmed Patel will t be present at meeting as he is mitted to hospital due to ill health.

Congress blamed for defeat in Bihar assembly polls
Congress has been blamed by RJD as well as BJP, for defeat of Grand Alliance in recently concluded Bihar elections. success rate of RJD and Left parties was over 50% whereas Congress mand to win only 19 out of 70 seats it contested.
Congress claimed only nine seats out of 28 in Mhya Presh by-polls and could t win a single seat in Karnataka by-polls. It mand to win only eight assembly seats in Gujarat. Congress’ performance was also discouraging in Uttar Presh where party’s General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is in-charge.

Meanwhile, RJD leers have also raised questions over Congress' attitude towards Bihar Assembly polls. Shivanand Tiwari slammed Congress leership saying that y did t pay heed to campaign as many senior leers like Priyanka Gandhi, Dr Manmohan Singh and even president Sonia Gandhi did t participate in election campaign.
