As publishing house Bloomsbury India withdrew a book titled 'Delhi Riots 2020: Untold Story', after facing backlash on social media, Congress has opined that good sense has prevailed. While many politicians, journalists, celebrities and authors have raised crucial questions on freedom of speech and democratic rights as book was withdrawn, Congress leer Abhishek Manu Singhvi has chosen to pin blame of Delhi riots on to BJP.
BJP has however said that this pressure me by left-liberals on a publishing house exposes who was behind February riots in national capital. Moreover, Bloomsbury India w faces backlash for publishing a book titled 'Shaheen Bagh'.

Taking to Twitter, Singhvi has said that people & voters of Delhi can see what fraud has been perpetrated upon m in name of development, ding that 'spine' has prevailed as Bloomsbury India has decided to withdraw book, pinpointing that BJP leer Kapil Mishra would attend launch.
Kapil Mishra gave a communally charged speech before riots broke out in Delhi and has been accused by many for provoking rioters. However, Delhi Police has t yet named him in any of ir 111 chargesheets related to riots.

Controversy over book

Reportedly, 190-p book, suggests riots were orchestrated by 'urban Naxals', h links with ISIS, and states how anti-CAA protests at Jamia and Shaheen Bagh to riots. Several social media users took to Twitter to condemn 'Bloomsbury India' - publisher for allegedly 'publishing a book of lies'.

Bloomsbury withdraws book
Publishing house Bloomsbury India withdrew publication of a book titled - Delhi Riots 2020: Untold Story on Saturday, after facing ire on social media. Bloomsbury India in a statement said that 'it h kwledge of launch event' and would t have approved of participation of several parties. "Bloomsbury India h planned to release Delhi Riots 2020: Untold Story in September as a book giving a factual report on riots in Delhi in February 2020, based on investigations and interviews conducted by authors. Bloomsbury India strongly supports freedom of speech but also has a deep sense of responsibility towards society."

However, publishing house is going full speed ahe with ar book, 'Shaheen Bagh - From a protest to movement' by Zia Us Salam and Uzma Ausaf.

Delhi riots
Clashes began between CAA supporters and anti-CAA groups in rast Delhi on February 23, as both camps resorted to stone-pelting after Shaheen Bagh-like protests started in Jaffrab and Chand Bagh. situation deteriorated even after Delhi Police reached spot with houses, shops, and buses being gutted to fire by rioters. violence killed 53 and injured over 200, as per official figures.
