A day before nation celebrates birthday of Veer Savarkar, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel created a controversy after he said that it was Savarkar who coined two nation ory. He said that Muhamm Ali Jinnah took forward thought of Savarkar and he was first to pitch idea of carving out Pakistan from India before Independence.
"Vinayak Damodar Savarkar h first thought of two-nation ory. His ory was taken forward by Muhamm Ali Jinnah," Baghel was quoted as saying by news ncy ANI. He was dressing Congress workers on former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's death anniversary in Raipur.

"Savarkar h put forward proposal of dividing country into two parts on religious grounds and Jinnah h implemented it. This is a historical fact and one can deny it," Congress leer said.

He ded, "He h fought for independence of country and was put in Andaman and Nicobar jail. t just once but he apologised repeatedly to Britishers and after coming out of jail he stayed away from fight for country's independence. He h thought of two countries, this is also historically true."

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Prime Minister-elect Modi took to Twitter to pay his tribute to Veer Savarkar and said that he has inspired many towards nation building.
In a similar controversy during election season, Congress leer Shatrughan Sinha h called Pakistan's Quaid-i-Azam Muhamm Ali Jinnah as freedom fighter and 'belonging to Congress family' while enlisting various leers who fought for India's independence.
