Days after going 'national' KCR's party puts up distorted map of India, draws BJP's ire

Following the use of distorted India map in posters, BRS came under BJP's fire with its leaders claiming that KCR's party has violated the Indian constitution.

Days after Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) was renamed to Bharat Rashtriya Samithi (BRS), newly-announced national party stirred up controversy after its leers, including Khairatab MLA Danam Nagender and ors, put up banners and posters showing an incomplete map of India at a few places in Hyderab city. Notably, banners h pictures of regional party leers, along with BRS supremo KCR photo on Indian map.  

Following placement of banners and posters, BRS came under fire from BJP with its leers alleging that KCR's party h violated Indian Constitution and demanding action against ruling party of Telangana. map with annexation of part of Jammu and Kashmir, used by Pakistan, was put up on banners.

Stepping up its criticism, BJP accused newly-christened BRS party of redrawing map of India and showing Kashmir as a part of Pakistan. "Is KCR following legacy of Nizam of Hyderab who wanted to merge with Pakistan?!" saffron party leers questioned. 

TRS to BRS: KCR's gamble 

Telangana Chief Minister KCR, last week, changed name of TRS to BRS announcing party's foray into national politics ahe of upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, scheduled for 2024. name change resolution was passed by party general body after a meeting in Hyderab as party workers cheered and banners with slogans like "Desh ka neta KCR," "Dear India, he is coming", and "KCR is on way".

While some are believing that KCR's move to enter turf of national politics could help him increase his political stature, ors fear that this strategy could turn into a misventure for him.

Meanwhile, BJP accused KCR of betraying people of Telangana and said that BRS chief leveraged emotion of creating Telangana as a separate state and used it as a bridge for his family to capture top power structure of state.

Notably, it was in 2001 that KCR formed TRS to revive movement for separate statehood to Telangana. After accomplishing aim in 2014, KCR formed first government in new state and retained its power in 2018.
