'Distressed by recent happenings': VP Naidu after Cong MLAs 'manhandle' Himachal Governor

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday expressed concern over recent happenings in Himachal Pradesh Assembly, where Goverr Bandaru Dattatreya was allegedly manhandled by some Congress MLAs. Following this incident, Leader of Opposition and four or Opposition party legislators were suspended for remaining Budget session.

Vice President while addressing 11th Convocation of Dr Ambedkar Law University said that people in public life and high positions must set an example to ors by maintaining high standards. M Venkaiah Naidu added, ''I was distressed by recent happenings in Himachal Pradesh legislature and a few or states. I urge all public representatives to conduct mselves in a decent and dignified manner in every forum. Orwise, people might get disillusioned with our polity soon."

Congress MLAs 'manhandle' Himachal Pradesh Goverr 

In what can be said as a denigrating act to demean a constitutional position, Himachal Pradesh Goverr Bandaru Dattatraya was allegedly manhandled by some of Congress members on Friday in Assembly complex. Five MLAs from Congress fold have been suspended after incident.

incident occurred when  goverr along with CM Jai Ram Thakur and Speaker Vipin Parmar was moving towards his motorcade after addressing opening day of Budget session. Congress MLAs including Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri stopped goverr in front of speaker's chamber.

After incident, speaker said five Congress MLAs Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri and four or MLAs Harsh Vardhan Chauhan, Sunder Singh Thakur, Satpal Raizada, and Vinay Kumar are suspended on a motion moved by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Bhardwaj. ne of  Congress MLAs was present in House at time of suspension of five MLAs.
