DMK chief Stalin urges other states to follow as Kerala passes anti-CAA resolution
DMK President MK Stalin welcomed the move by Kerala CM to move a resolution against CAA and also made an appeal to all the State Assemblies to do the same.

Kerala Assembly on Tuesday passed a resolution demanding scrapping of contentious Citizenship Amendment Act, amid raging countrywide protests against legislation. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President MK Stalin welcomed move by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and also me an appeal to all State Assemblies to do same. He also demanded that Tamil Nu government should also pass a resolution in state Assembly against CAA, National Register of Citizens and National Population Register.

In Kerala Assembly, ruling CPI(M)-LDF and opposition Congress-led UDF supported resolution while BJP's lone MLA and former Union Minister O Rajagopal was only dissenting voice in one-day special session. house opted resolution moved by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

' Centre should take steps to drop CAA'
While presenting resolution, Vijayan said CAA was against "secular" outlook and fabric of country and would le to religion-based discrimination in granting citizenship. " Act contricts basic values and principles of Constitution. In view of anxiety among people of country, Centre should take steps to drop CAA and uphold secular outlook of Constitution," he said.
