Amid Coronavirus scare, Health minister Harsh Vardhan reviews precautionary measures
Dr. Harsh Vardhan reviewed the status of preparedness and actions taken so far in handling the situation arising out of the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Friday reviewed status of preparedness and actions taken so far in handling situation arising out of outbreak of vel Coronavirus (COVID19), with senior officials in Delhi. Union Health Minister was informed that various precautionary measures have been undertaken in close coordination with concerned ministries at central level.
Dr. Vardhan has urged all states again to keep high vigil, even though new positive cases has been reported from country. He also vised states to continue enhancing awareness amongst masses for prevention through personal hygiene.

HFW's statement
According to an official statement, Secretary, Health and Family Welfare (HFW) ministry, also informed that States have been vised to regularly update requisite information pertaining to screening and surveillance accurately and in a timely manner on web portal which has been put in place as a special surveillance web tool to monitor cases on a real-time basis at national level.
He also ded that states and UTs have reported that protocols and guidelines issued by Central government are being followed to avoid any eventuality. She furr informed that sufficient stocks for Personal Protection Equipment and masks have been procured.

minister was also informed that at present, screening of passengers is being done in all 21 airports, 12 major and 65 n-major seaports and border crossings. In all 3,835 flights and 3,97,148 passengers have been screened so far.

As of w, 2,707 samples have been tested of which only three samples h earlier tested positive in Kerala and all three patients have been discharged from hospitals and are w in home isolation.
All Indian evacuees from Wuhan have tested negative for COVID19 and have gone back to ir homes from quarantine facilities. 21,805 persons are presently under community surveillance in 34 States and UTs through Integrated Diseases Surveillance Programme (IDSP) network.
