EC asks Akhilesh Yadav to submit proof over 'deletion of Muslim, Yadav votes' allegation

Election Commission's response came after the Samajwadi Party supremo claimed that the poll body deleted the names of voters from Yadav & Muslim communities.

In an action over Akhilesh Yav’s allegations, Election Commission on Thursday asked Samajwi Party (SP) chief to submit proof to substantiate his allegation that ECI deliberately deleted names of voters from Yav and Muslim communities to tune of 20,000 in almost all Uttar Presh Assembly constituencies at behest of BJP. ECI has asked  SP supremo to submit proof to Commission by November 10 so that necessary action can be taken in matter. poll body has also asked SP leer to submit a report on Assembly-wise data of deletions to strengn his claims. EC’s action came after Akhilesh Yav accused poll body of manipulating Uttar Presh election in February-March this year,

Akhilesh Yav blames EC For SP's poll debacle

Soon after getting elected as Samajwi Party chief again for third term, Akhilesh Yav accused Election Commission of manipulating Uttar Presh election. His comments came while he was dressing national convention of SP on September 30. 

Accusing EC of working on behest of BJP, Samajwi chief said that at least 20,000 voters of his party in each constituency were not able to exercise ir franchise during recent Assembly election in state.

" Election Commission deliberately reduced votes of Yavs and Muslims by 20,000 in almost every Assembly seat on direction of BJP and its Panna Pramukhs. I have said it before and I will say it again that if a probe is conducted, it will be found that our 20,000 votes were discarded and names of many people were removed. Some people were transferred from one booth to or,” Akhilesh Yav asserted during public dress. 

BJP won second term in Uttar Presh 

BJP registered a massive win in Uttar Presh Assembly elections held in seven phases this year. Crossing majority mark of 255 seats in 403-member legislative Assembly, BJP won elections and secured a second term in state. This was first time since 1985 that a ruling party has returned to power in Uttar Presh.
