Haryana elections: Manohar Lal attacks Sonia, Congress demands apology

With the elections in Haryana around the corner, CM Manohar Lal Khattar lashed out the INC and Sonia Gandhi for their inability to find another President

Senior BJP leer and Chief Minister of Haryana Mahar Lal Khattar, lashed out at Indian National Congress party on October 13 and said despite looking for three months, Sonia Gandhi was appointed interim chief of party. Chief Minister on Sunday dismissed Sonia Gandhi's return as interim president of Congress party.

'We thought this was good'

dressing an election rally, Chief Minister Mahar Lal Khattar recalled, "After losing Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi resigned as Congress president and started saying that party should get new president from outside Gandhi family." CM Lal ded, "We thought this was good, to move away from nepotism (parivarv)... But y spent three months moving around country in search of a new party president. After three months who became president? Sonia Gandhi. Khoda Pahar Nikli Chuiya... This is ir condition," ded Khattar.

INC condemns remarks me by CM Khattar

INC via its official Twitter handle has condemned remarks me by Haryana CM; mess roughly translates to: " comment me by BJP's Chief Minister is t only cheap and objectionable, but it also shows anti-women character of BJP. We condemn Chief Minister ML Khattar's remark and demand an immediate apology from him," Congress tweeted in Hindi.

BJP has released its manifesto for state

Ahe of Haryana assembly elections on October 21, BJP has released its manifesto for state on Sunday. manifesto is titled 'Mhare Sapne Ka Haryana' or 'My dreams of Haryana'. party has promised an increase in farmer's income and zero tolerance to corruption. As per reports, party h divided state into 2,000 categories and has sought suggestions for manifesto. Reportedly, it received about 1.70 lakh suggestions for manifesto from across state. Later, committee constituted under leership of Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankhar selected 200 suggestions and included m in manifesto. Congress h alrey released its manifesto on Friday, making promises like farm loan waiver, unemployment allowance for gruates and post-gruates, free rides for women in Haryana Roways, etc.

'Internal contrictions'

In a massive setback to Congress party ahe of assembly polls in Haryana, its former state chief Ashok Tanwar resigned from party on Saturday. Even as Congress party named its former Haryana chief as a star campaigner for upcoming assembly polls, he resigned saying  Congress party is going through an 'existential crisis' because of 'internal contrictions' in party. re has been infighting within Congress in poll-bound states of Maharashtra and Haryana. While in Haryana re has been a divide, with one group supporting Bhupinder Singh Hooda and or Ashok Tanwar, in Maharashtra, former Mumbai chief of party Sanjay Nirupam has revolted openly against party.
