Congress leers Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Vra and three ors have been allowed by Uttar Presh authorities to travel to Hathras and meet family of 19-year-old Dalit woman who was allegedly gang-raped and murdered last month.
This Congress leers' second attempt to reach Hathras and speak to family of victim who died on September 29 in a Delhi hospital after succumbing to grievous injuries. brutal alleged gangrape of woman by four upper-caste men has drawn stark criticism from Opposition towards CM ityanath as well as BJP-led Central government over spike in crimes against women.

UP Police h deployed a heavy presence on Delhi-ida border. Several prominent Congress leers including MP Shashi Tharoor, Pratap Singh Bajwa, Saptagiri Utama also joined cavalce.

Meanwhile, top officials from UP government and police, including DGP HC Awasthy and ditional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi went to Hathras today to speak to family, and media were allowed to enter vill after a 48-hour ban.
On Thursday Gandhis were stopped in UP's Greater ida (near Delhi) and briefly taken into custody. Rahul was manhandled and pushed to ground by cops in that tussle, prompting indignation at UP government's handling of opposition leers.

About Hathras rape case
A 19-year-old woman was allegedly raped by four men in Hathras which has sparked a major protest. victim was allegedly raped in Hathras on September 14 in a field, leaving her in a critical condition. When her condition worsened, she was referred to AIIMS but was mitted to Safdarjung hospital in Delhi on Monday with spinal cord injuries, paralysis, and cuts in her tongue. She died around 3 am on Tuesday, but her autopsy report has mention of rape. Police have claimed that Hathras gangrape victim was 't raped' after postmortem report stated 'neck injury and trauma' as cause of death and that traces of sperm were found in her private parts.
case took an ugly turn when UP police cremated victim's body at 2:30 AM on Wednesday, allegedly without family's consent, which has been refuted by police. Allahab High Court has taken a suo moto cognizance of case and sought a response from senior state officials by October 12.
