Harsh Vardhan responds to Rahul Gandhi's 'govt not serious on Coronavirus' claim

Amid dely Coronavirus outbreak, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Thursday in a media briefing hit out at Rahul Gandhi as he dismissed Congress leer's accusation that Central government was t serious about combatting disease's threat.
Union Minister said that he h elaborated on situation of Coronavirus in Lok Sabha, which he briefly wondered if Rahul Gandhi heard. Dr Harsh Vardhan also stated that India was one of first countries to react to situation, even before WHO, we h started taking precautions from January 17 only by declaring it a world emergency.

Rahul Gandhi's accusation
Congress leer Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday h accused BJP-led Central government of t taking Coronavirus threat "seriously". Taking to Twitter, Gandhi said that Coronavirus is an "extremely serious threat to our people and our ecomy." He ded that "Timely action is critical." However, he failed to explain why he felt that Government has t taken threat seriously. He h also posted a map relating to Coronavirus which h incorrectly depicted India, ceding parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Lakh to Pakistan and China, which he later deleted.

Union Health Minister briefs Parliament over Coronavirus
As Congress leer accused government on Wednesday, Union Health Minister, two days earlier on Monday h briefed Parliament about Coronavirus situation. Dr Harsh Vardhan h dressed seriousness of situation stating that WHO h declared outbreak "a public health emergency of international concern." He also revealed how a number of details regarding vel disease that are still unkwn including functioning of virus and time frame that it works in and elaborated extensively on measures taken by Indian Government to control epidemic.

"After a person is infected with disease, it takes nearly 14 days for symptoms to hit in. re are 10-20% cases that are serious eugh for person to be on a ventilator because of pneumonia, 2% of cases show possibility of death," he said.
