Draft CMP with Sena, NCP focuses on farmers, jobs: Congress leader

Leers of Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena met here on Thursday to work out a common minimum programme (CMP) before finalizing a possible alliance for government formation in Maharashtra involving three parties.

Talking to PTI, Congress leer, who did t wish to be named, said representatives of Congress, NCP and Sena have prepared a draft CMP which will w be approved and finalised by top leers of three parties.
"All-inclusive development and justice to all sections of society is criteria on what we will work if CMP is approved by leership of all three parties," he said.

Among or issues, draft CMP focuses on solving problems being faced by farmers and tackling unemployment, Congress leer said. Congress leer said ar meeting will be held among three parties if any suggestion for inclusion or deletion of any issue is me.

NCP chief Shar Pawar is expected to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi on vember 17 in New Delhi where a final decision on government formation is likely to be taken.
Meanwhile, when contacted, senior Congress leer Manikrao Thakare said Gandhi will take final call on draft CMP and n a decision will be taken on how to move forward.

Sena reached out to Congress-NCP combine for government formation after its demand for sharing chief minister's post and equal distribution of portfolios was rejected by BJP, its pre-poll ally.
BJP and Sena, which fought October 21 polls in an alliance, secured a comfortable majority by winning 105 and 56 seats, respectively, in 288-member assembly, where majority mark is 145.

Congress and NCP, pre-poll allies, won 44 and 54 seats, respectively. President's rule was imposed in state on Tuesday after Goverr Bhagat Singh Koshyari sent a report to Centre, stating that formation of a stable government was impossible in current political situation.
