Moments after Maharashtra Goverr Bhagat Singh Koshyari rejected Shiv Sena's request for more time on Monday, he has invited Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) to form government in state as it is third-largest party.
NCP's Ajit Pawar holds press brief
Ajit Pawar in a briefing minutes after Goverr invited NCP to form government in state, He said, "At 8:30 pm Goverr called us and asked me to come to meet him. Along with Chhagan Bhujbal, Jayant Patil and ors, I am going to meet him. We have idea as to why did he call us. Goverr is an important person so we are going to meet him."

Goverr rejected Shiv Sena's request
Earlier, Shiv Sena leer itya Thackeray in a press briefing said, "We have requested more time from Goverr, which he has declined. Our claim has t been rejected. Both parties have been speaking to us. As second-largest party, it was our right to come here. We want a stable govt in Maharashtra. We are willing to form government and asked for an extension of 48 hrs to fulfil all procedures."

Delegation of Shiv Sena met Goverr and expressed willingness to form govt. However, y couldn't submit a requisite letter of support. y submitted a letter requesting a 3-day extension for submitting letters of support. Goverr expressed inability to give a furr extension.

While Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna claimed that both NCP and Congress h given letters of support to Shiv Sena, in a statement, Congress Working Committee after meeting on Monday morning has said that party will hold "furr discussions" with NCP. Sonia Gandhi spoke to both, NCP patron Shar Pawar and Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray earlier on Monday over political scenario unfolding in state.

Asuddin Owaisi on lending support
chief of AIMIM, Assuddin Owaisi, took to Twitter amid ticking clock for government formation in Maharashtra and said that AIMIM will t support "Shiv Sena-Congress" government. This comes as continuous meetings have been carried out to strike a deal for formation of a government in Maharashtra.
