How Shivraj Singh Chouhan reacted to BJP naming Mohan Yadav as his successor

outgoing Mhya Presh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, congratulated his successor Mohan Yav, who was named by BJP central observers, putting an end to week-long speculations after saffron party clinched emphatic victory in Hindi heartland state. 

Chouhan, whose women's welfare schemes titled many votes to BJP, expressed confidence in his successor and asked Yav to create new records in field of public welfare under “guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” 

“Hearty congratulations to hardworking fellow Shri @DrMohanYav51 ji on being nominated as Chief Minister of Mhya Presh in BJP Legislative Party meeting. I am confident ‍ that under able guidance of respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, you will take Mhya Presh to new heights of progress and development and will create new records in field of public welfare. Many congratulations and best wishes for this new responsibility!” Chouhand wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Yav, who held cabinet berth in previous Mhya Presh government led by Chouhan, was picked as new Chief Minister at BJP's legislative meeting in Bhopal on Monday. 

Ujjain South MLA, on being picked for top post, said, “I am a small worker of party. I thank all of you, state leership and central leership. With your love and support, I will try to fulfil my responsibilities.” 

BJP legislative meeting also picked two deputies for Yav-  Jagdisgh Devda and Rajesh Shukla.

In 2023 state elections, BJP achieved an emphatic victory bagging 163 seats while Congress finished second in race with 66 seats. party's 'Lli Behna' scheme was regarded as a masterstroke that significantly influenced voters in favour of BJP.
