Taking a swipe at Modi government over Union minister Piyush Goyal's Amazon remarks, Congress on Friday said it was "foolhardy" to snub investment proposals.

"To snub away investment is foolhardy, but, government of day, which has ensured that ecomic growth rate dips to below 5 pc, kws better," Congress spokesperson Supriya Srinate said responding to Goyal's remarks that Amazon was t doing any favour to India by investing one billion dollars.
"Investment is an act of faith, people invest when y see returns, people invest when y see an opportunity and investment generates jobs, employment opportunities and ecomic activity," she said.

A day after stating that Amazon was t doing any favour to India by investing one billion dollars, Goyal on Friday said country welcomes all kinds of investments that follow "letter and spirit" of law.Goyal said that some people have misconstrued his remarks by suggesting that he h said something negative against Amazon."I was only saying that investment should come as per rules and regulation," he said.
