In his letter, Scindia mentioned that his dissatisfaction had built up in past one year. He wrote to Sonia, "As you well kw, this path that has been drawing itself out over last year."
Minutes before resignation, Jytiraditya Scindia met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at latter's residence along with former BJP party chief Amit Shah. After meeting, Shah and Scindia left toger, with miffed Congress leader leaving behind Range Rover he had driven into 7LKM.

Congress' attempts to woo Scindia
Congress high-command had also attempted desperate overtures to Scindia, offering to meet his demands, wher y be a Rajya Sabha seat or post of Madhya Pradesh Congress chief. Tuesday's developments come at a time that Kamal Nath-led Madhya Pradesh government appears to be on brink, with MLAs who are loyal to Scindia apparently ready to resign, ir numbers posing a fatal threat to maintainability of Congress government.
