J&K's Article 370 to go, wrestlers Babita Phogat and Yogeshwar Dutt hail Modi government's move to integrate India

On Monday, Home Minister Amit Shah gave a statement in the Rajya Sabha on Jammu and Kashmir proposing that the Article 370 be abrogated, while the Modi government also moved to bifurcate the state into two union territories - J&K which will have a legislature and Ladakh, which won't.
The Home Minister said that he proposed that the Modi government under the advisement of the President recommends the revocation of Article 370. He said that the Centre has brought four proposals pertaining to the state to the Parliament.

Wrestling fraternity hails and welcomes the move
As this was officially confirmed, two of India's finest wrestlers Babita Phogat and Yogeshwar Dutt hailed as well as welcomed this move as they expressed their happiness on social media.
Babita, who has won two consecutive gold medals in the 2014 & 2018 Commonwealth Games took to Twitter and wrote 'Lath gaad diya dhumma tha diya' indicating this as a big achievement.

Meanwhile, Dutt took to Twitter and wrote that those who are beating their chest due to the removal of Article 370 are the same people who were still shaking their hands over the dead bodies of Kashmiris for 70 years. The Olympic bronze medalist then added that today it is a historic day when the whole country is proud, and for the first time in the country, people have seen the power of the central government.

Prologue to Amit Shah's Rajya Sabha announcement
This comes after Shah met with PM Narendra Modi during the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security and later in the Cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister's residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. Shah had also held a one-hour meeting with Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad before his meeting with the Prime Minister.
