Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Saturday hit out at Opposition Congress for having ‘betrayed’ mandate of people, including farmers, women and youth of state.

"Today, y (Congress) say that Jyotiraditya Scindia is a traitor. My question to m is that y had promised that within 10 days y will waive off loans of farmers but why did that t materialise? It is party that has betrayed trust of farmers, y are t just unfaithful but y are traitors," Scindia said while addressing a public meeting in Indore.

BJP leader cornered Congress on ir promised scheme of unemployment allowance of Rs 4,000 per month to youth. “Where did that promise vanish?" he questioned. Praising Madhya Pradesh government led by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Scindia said BJP government has been giving Rs 25,000 under Kanyadaan Yojana, but Congress turned away from same promise made during polls.

'Congress sought vote in name of Scindia'

CM Chouhan also criticised Congress for seeking votes in 2018 state assembly polls in name of Jyotiraditya Scindia and betraying mandate of people by making Kamal Nath chief minister of state.

" Congress betrayed people of Madhya Pradesh by making Kamal Nath  Chief Minister instead of Jyotiraditya Scindia. People had voted for  Congress to make Scindia CM. But after  party gained majority, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi made Kamal Nath  CM. This was a betrayal of people," Chouhan said.

Assembly by-polls are due on 28 seats in state of Madhya Pradesh which fell vacant following resignations of 24 Congress MLAs and death of two legislators earlier. On March, Jyotiraditya Scindia resigned from state assembly along with 22 Congress MLAs which led to fall of MP government. development paved way for BJP's Shivraj Singh Chouhan to take over as Chief Minister of state for fourth time.
