Kamal Nath on Scindia's remarks: 'Public trusts their leader'

Reacting to Scindia's criticism of his government's farmer loan waiver scheme, Kamal Nath stated that the people trusted their leader to keep his promise.

Reacting to former Member of Parliament (MP) Jyotiritya Scindia’s criticism of his government’s farmer loan waiver scheme, Mhya Presh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, on Saturday, stated that people trusted "ir leer" to keep his promise. Conceding that only Rs 50,000 h been waived off in first instalment, he committed to waiving off remaining amount in due course of time.

Scindia expresses displeasure

Scindia has been at loggerhes with Mhya Presh CM since missing out on CM's post after Congress won Assembly elections in December 2018. Recently, he castigated state government for t implementing loan waiver scheme in a proper manner. He also lamented lack of healthcare facilities in each district. Similarly, senior leer Digvijaya Singh's bror Laxman Singh asked former Congress president Rahul Gandhi to apologise for t keeping loan waiver promise.

At a garing in Bhind, Scindia said, " second thing is that loan waiver has t been provided. Only 50,000 of 2 lakh rupees promised as a loan waiver have been provided. loan waiver should be given to farmers. We h promised it."

Republic exposes farm-loan waiver sham 

In May 2019, Republic TV revealed that promise of a loan waiver was far from being implemented in states of Mhya Presh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. Some of Congress Members of Legislative Assembly h revealed in private conversations about how farmers h been duped, just for getting votes. According to Republic’s investigation, State government h increased burden on farmers in state.
