In a massive development, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, on Friday, has anunced that all malls, cinema halls, pubs, marris and or large garings in state have been banned for next week. Chief Minister h invoked relevant sections of Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897  to subdue outbreak of Covid-19 in state on Wednesday, as per reports. Sections 2, 3 and 4 of Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 (Central Act of 1897) reportedly allows state government to anunce special temporary measures to be observed by public.

First death in India due to Coronavirus

This development comes amid India witnessing its first death due to Coronavirus. On Thursday, laboratory reports confirmed that a 76-year-old man from Karnataka's Kalaburagi who passed away on Tuesday night h contracted vel coronavirus. According to Karnataka Health Department, Telangana government has been informed about this as he was mitted to a hospital re.

Earlier, Karnataka Health Department revealed that man returned from Saudi Arabia to Hyderab on February 29. Initially, he was mitted to outpatient department of a private hospital in Kalaburagi on March 5. After 4 days, he was shifted to a private hospital in Hyderab. However, hospital informed patient’s family to shift him back to Kalaburagi and he, unfortunately, passed away in ambulance on way to Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences on Tuesday.
