The political climate in Karnataka seems to be heating up ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. Just after the urban local body polls concluded, a full-scale political war has broken out between Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy and Former CM BS Yeddyurappa.
The political bigwigs fired fresh salvos against each other and engaged in fierce mudslinging. It all began on Thursday morning, when a furious Kumaraswamy replied to CM BS Yeddyurappa's allegation on him and his family.

CM HD Kumaraswamy said, "Yeddyurappa must introspect. Stop speaking ill about us. We've tried to protect the resources of the government. We never looted government money. They(BSY) looted the government and they're labeling us corrupt."

Followed by Kumaraswamy's attack on Yeddyurappa, some Congress workers gathered outside Yeddyurappa's house in Bengaluru and shouted slogans against the BJP. Next, a couple of BJP MLAs and their supporters rushed to the former CM's house and a war of words ensued between the two factions. BJP leaders said Congress workers were supported and sent by the government to create the ruckus.
HD Kumaraswamy warns BS Yeddyurappa
Taking the war of words ahead, HDK warned Yeddyurappa of serious consequences. He said, " I've been very patient till now. If you provoke me then they must remember that we're in government in the state. You think I don't have the power to do anything the next morning. I advise them to be careful."

Karnataka BJP chief Yeddyurappa replied stating that he is not afraid. He exclaimed, "If they're in power in the state, we've power in the center. If they do anything, we're capable of giving a befitting reply."

The heated exchange of words between Yeddyurappa and Kumaraswamy did not end there. Kumaraswamy escalated the fight with another verbal attack.
" Write it down now. Some BJP leaders are obstructing the government from carrying out developmental works. This government is trying to give the best and fulfill its duty to the people state. Some people are trying to topple this government. I ask the people to riot against them. I give this call from my hometown."
The BJP and JD(S)' bitter battle dates back to rumours of 'Operation Lotus', an alleged conspiracy by the BJP to rope in MLAs from JD(S) and Congress to topple the present coalition government. With both the political bigwigs from JD(S) and BJP taking on each other, the battle for the Lok Sabha polls has only got more fierce.
