Two Independent MLAs of Karnataka Assembly Shankar and Nagesh have approached Supreme Court about breakdown of Constitution democracy in Karnataka - where a CM despite not having a majority in house is stalling a trust vote by dubious tactics. y furr alleged that CM HD Kumaraswamy is planning to mit himself to a hospital to furr delay trust vote. Trust vote in Karnataka assembly is scheduled on July 22.
On July 19, drama of assembly was put on hold till Monday, with Assembly being journed by Speaker after failing to meet governor's deline at 6 PM to conduct trust vote that would decide fate of HD Kumaraswamy-led coalition government. BJP Karnataka chief BS Yeddyurappa, on Friday h said that current coalition JD(S)-Congress government has time till Monday to prove its majority saying that BJP h numbers while Kumarswamy did not. idependent MLAs step to seek SC's help comes after continuous delay in trust vote.

Delay in Floor-test:
In morning on Friday, after resuming debate on floor, Governor of Karnataka Vajubhai Vala h asked Chief Minister to prove his majority by 1:30 pm, which was countered by Speaker by saying that trust vote will be conducted through a voice vote after discussion ends journing assembly on Friday until 3:00 pm. This was followed by anor directive from Governor that confidence vote business should be completed by 6 pm.
Intervening in debate, Kumaraswamy virtually ruled out proving his majority in Assembly by second deline set by Governor, when he sought protection from Assembly Speaker in matter. He said "second love letter" sent by Vala asking him to prove majority in Assembly before 6 pm today hurt him and asked him wher he came to know of horse-tring only now. As trust vote was pushed till Monday, governor wrote to Ministry of Home affairs (MHA) about developments in state.

Meanwhile, rebel MLAs h appealed to Supreme Court claiming that Speaker is not accepting resignations, to which apex court ruled after hearing both sides that rebel MLAs are not bound to be part of floor test and may skip it if y wish to do so.
