Kejriwal urges united front against Farm Bills in RS, slams Opposition's 'walkout drama'
Slamming the three farm bills passed in the Lok Sabha, Delhi CM and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Friday strongly disapproved of the opposition's strategy.

Slamming three farm bills passed in Lok Sabha, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Friday strongly disapproved of opposition's strategy. Referring to walkout std by Congress and or Parties before pass of legislation, he vocated that it was more prudent for all opposition MPs to remain present in House and oppose bills. Terming farm legislation as "anti-farmer", he demanded Centre to withdraw se bills.
AAP chief anunced that his Party would vote against farm bills, alleging that farmers will be exploited by big companies. He called upon all n-BJP parties to jointly oppose legislation on floor of Rajya Sabha. bills in contention are Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020, Farmers' Produce Tre and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 and Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020.

aforesaid bills were introduced by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to replace three ordinances promulgated on June 5. As per Centre, Essential Commodities Act, 1955 was amended to ensure that farmers get a good price on many commodities. Items such as food grains, oil, dal, pulses, potato have been removed from purview of this Act.
Meanwhile, Farmers' Produce Tre and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 aims at freeing farmers from constraints of state Agriculture Produce Market Committees whereby y would be able to sell ir produce anywhere. On or hand, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 protects and empowers farmers to eng with processors, wholesalers, large retailers, exporters for farm services. Union Food Processing Industries Minister Harsimrat Kaur Bal resigned from Union Cabinet soon after pass of se bills.

PM Modi hails reform legislation
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed pass of "historic" agrarian reform bills, describing it as an important moment in agriculture sector. He stated that se bills will free farmers from middlemen and or barriers. According to him, farmers will get new opportunities for selling ir produce, reby increasing ir income.
PM opined that agricultural sector will benefit from latest techlogy. In a veiled dig at opposition, he mentioned that some forces were trying to misle farmers. Moreover, he gave an assurance that current system of Minimum Support Price and government purchase of farm produce will continue.
