Ludhiana City Centre Scam: CM Amarinder Singh not guilty, says VB

The VB in its closure report has reportedly said that CM Captain Amarinder Singh never had any ill-intention in the execution of Ludhiana city centre project.

Vigilance Bureau (VB) in its closure report has reportedly stated that Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh never h any ill-intention in execution of Rs 1,144 crore Ludhiana City Centre project. closure report was out on Saturday, as per sources. It furr stated that, "re is proof or fact to substantiate any scam in project and that re is proof of any bribe money exchanged between representatives of private firm, Today Homes, and any government official at Hotel Park Plaza of Ludhiana."

VB Probe report

According to official reports, Vigliance Bureau submitted probe report 10 years after FIR was filed. VB report stated that Captain Amarinder Singh has pointed out irregularities in project from time to time, keeping in view welfare of people and have also corrected m. He has followed law at every step. Furr, proof has been found of any bribery. It has been mentioned thrice in report that Ludhiana City Centre was a huge project and that LIT Chairman Pramjit Singh Sibia did t have a proper kwledge on how to handle project. report concluded by saying that all allegations against Captain Amarinder Singh are fictional and doubtful.

Ludhiana City Centre Scam 

During Captain Amarinder Singh's previous term (2002-2007), government envisd Rs 1,144 crore project to develop a mall, a multiplex, leisure parks and or commercial hubs with a rooftop helip on Pakhowal Ro of Ludhiana. In 2007, Vigilance Bureau registered a case against 36 persons which included Amarinder Singh and his son, Raninder Singh on March 23, 2007. According to reports, Singh and ors were allegedly favouring a Delhi-based company called 'Today Home' for executing real estate project that violated rms. accused were booked under Prevention of Corruption Act, and several sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

A charge sheet was filed on December 12, 2007 but court did t frame any charges against accused. case was journed over last 10 years. closure report is completely contricting its previous report. According to vigilance report, investigation was t carried out properly and hence, a re-investigation has been done. During first tenure of Captain Amarinder Singh, case kept troubling him as Vigilance Bureau constantly argued in court against him.
