Union minister Anurag Thakur on Friday challenged Rahul and Sonia Gandhi to point out one word in Citizenship [Amendment] Act (CAA) that calls for taking away citizenship.
Addressing a Press conference here, Thakur alleged that "mor-son duo" was working towards "breaking" country. minister said 2019 was year of correcting "historical mistakes" made by Congress. " Narendra Modi government ended Article 370, 35A and Triple Talaq. Similarly, Ram Temple issue was resolved by SC and whole country accepted it. Somewhere, all delayed issues were resolved by our government," Thakur said.

re is t a single sentence in CAA, which states that citizenship of a person will be taken away, Thakur said. Taking a jibe at Congress, Thakur said some people are determined to t read it (CAA) and y don't even attend Parliament sessions when subject is discussed. "I want to challenge Congress leaders Rahul and Sonia Gandhi to point out one word in CAA which talks about taking away citizenship," he said, adding that mor-son duo was working towards "breaking" country.
It is unfortunate that Congress is trying to instill fear in minds of Muslims, he said. "I request my Muslim brethren to read CAA, as it cant take away citizenship of any Indian citizen," minister said. Asked about AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi's statement demanding withdrawal of Act before January 26 or face consequences, Thakur said, "Forget about January 26, thing can be done on issue for next 26 years."
