Mallikarjun Kharge meets Maharashtra Cong MLAs to discuss impasse
Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday met the party's newly-elected MLAs from Maharashtra to discuss the political situation in the state.

Senior Congress leer Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday met party's newly-elected MLAs from Maharashtra, who are currently staying at a resort in Jaipur, to discuss political situation in state. Kharge, who is All India Congress Committee's (AICC) generally secretary, met legislators informally to ascertain ir views on what stand party should take about government formation in Maharashtra, senior congress leer Manikrao Thakare told PTI.
"Kharge will n convey sentiments of legislators to party leership," Thakare said.

All 44 MLAs, including senior leers like Ashok Chavan, Prithviraj Chavan and Balasaheb Thorat, were staying at resort in Congress-ruled Rajasthan amid fear of "poaching" in view of stalemate over government formation in Maharashtra. BJP and its ally Shiv Sena are locked in a bitter tussle over chief minister's post. Goverr Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Saturday evening asked BJP, single largest party in new Assembly, to "indicate willingness and ability" to form government in state.
In October 21 polls to 288-member Maharashtra Assembly, BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena-56, NCP-54 and Congress-44.
