Mamata Banerjee slammed by Oppn for making India-Sri Lanka economic crisis comparison
The West Bengal CM was talking about the soaring fuel prices in India when she stated that the country’s economic situation was worse than Sri Lanka's.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday commented on ongoing Sri Lankan economic crisis and compared it to India while claiming that it's 'worse' here. During a virtual dress, Mamata Banerjee claimed that though Sri Lanka's economic crisis is b, India's condition is worse than Sri Lanka's. comment comparing economic situation of two countries has since stirred up controversy with several opposition leers slamming West Bengal CM for same.
Mamata Banerjee was talking about soaring fuel prices in India when she compared country’s economic situation to Sri Lanka. Following comment, leers from various political fronts came forward to condemn comments and slammed CM for same. Janata Dal (United) leer Dr Ajay Alok came forward to slam Banerjee and said that her party didn’t know what y were speaking about.

“se people definitely want our country to go on path of Sri Lanka. y don’t know meaning of economics and giving vice,” JDU’s Alok said. Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal leer and former MP Shivanand Tiwari also came forward to dismiss comment me by West Bengal CM. Reacting to same, he said, “Mamata Banerjee's comparison of India with Sri Lanka is wrong. I don't agree with her. Condition like Sri Lanka has not yet happened in India,” RJD leer said.
Mamata Banerjee attacks Centre over fuel prices
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday stirred up controversy after she released a statement comparing India’s economic condition to Sri Lanka. She was speaking to media after giving appointment letters to family members of victims of Birbhum massacre. Making comment, she said, “Sri Lanka's economic condition is b but India's condition is worse than Sri Lanka's. Fuel prices have been hiked here.”

“re is no planning here. Inste of using agencies like CBI and ED against opposition parties, Central government should call all political parties to discuss economic crisis,” West Bengal CM said. Banerjee’s allegation came as fuel prices in country rose for 12th time in 14 days. CM h earlier slammed PM Modi-led Centre over rising fuel prices in country.
