West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused Railway Ministry of sending special trains for migrants without any prior tice and disrupting state's methods to contain coronavirus. She furr accused railways of 'evacuating Maharashtra and spreing corona to Bengal' and playing politics with both states and sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention.
"I don't kw why Railway Ministry has done this. How will I screen 2 lakh migrants? Will Centre help?" Mamata Banerjee said. "Politics has overtaken everything. Am I to fight cyclone and corona or politics? It is all too much," ded Chief Minister.
"We h given a list and a schedule for migrant trains but were suddenly told yesterday that 36 trains are w leaving for Bengal. Maharashtra said even y h idea about it. y have started politics," she said. Furrmore, she accused railways of t practising social distancing in trains, even though states are paying bill.

"Why is re social distancing in trains. We are paying for tickets. But why so many passengers in coaches? You are evacuating Maharashtra and spreing corona to Bengal," she said.
Raising same issue, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday, May 26 also said his government was t informed about train coming from Mumbai to state and that move undermines measures taken by his government to ensure proper monitoring and control spre of COVID-19.
