West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee me a bizarre statement at Foundation Day event of Trinamool Congress Party on Monday, August 28. She claimed that Hindu epic Mahabharata was written by Kazi Nazrul Islam, a Bengali poet, writer, and a musician.
Kazi Nazrul Islam popularly known as Nazrul and is revered as national poet of Banglesh. Notably, after Chandrayaan-3 landing on Moon, West Bengal Chief Minister stated that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi 'went to Moon’.

BJP leer and Leer of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu hikari lashed out at Chief Minister saying, “Mamata Banerjee's distortion of historical events is a matter of public knowledge. It generally provides comic relief to people. Nobody seems to be offended because everyone knows that CM's general knowledge is really poor.”

BJP leer and LoP in Bengal Suvendu hikari shared video clip of CM Mamata of her gaffes and said, “Off late she has developed a tendency to distort facts related to Hindu religion. On July 4, 2023, she remarked while giving a TV interview that, she or her govt has built holy temples such as Tarakeswar, Kalighat, Dakshineshwar and or Hindu pilgrimage sites.”

He also shared video clip of Mamata Banerjee’s claim that Kazi Nazrul Islam penned Mahabharata. “Yesterday, on August 28, while dressing a rally on Foundation Day, she said that greatest epic Mahabharata was penned by Kazi Nazrul Islam. I think she very well knows that great sage; Maharishi Ved Vyasa is author of Mahabharata but she deliberately stated that Kazi Nazrul Islam is author of Mahabharata. It seems she feels a twisted sense of contentment by distorting facts about our great religion.”

Mamata Banerjee, after historic landing of Chandrayaan-3 on lunar surface, me a couple of blunders congratulating ISRO and country on achievement. first gaffe was mixing up with names of India’s first man to land on Moon, Rakesh Sharma, with actor Hrithik Roshan's far Rakesh Roshan. Last week, while congratulating ISRO on Chandrayaan-3 mission, TMC leer said India Gandhi asked ‘Rakesh Roshan’ how India looks from Moon. However, it was Rakesh Sharma, n a pilot with Indian Air Force (IAF), and not director-actor Rakesh Roshan.

In anor slip of tongue incident, she wrongly said, that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi 'went to Moon'. “When Indira Gandhi reached Moon, she asked Rakesh (Sharma) how Hindustan (India) looked from re. He replied ‘Sare jahaan se achcha’ ( best in world),” she said.
